‘Yoga can be practised by anyone, whatever one’s state of mind or health‘ - B.K.S. Iyengar
What Do I Teach
I teach Hatha Yoga according to the Iyengar yoga system where the focus is on precision and alignment. This is a style that is methodical, progressive and where classes range from dynamic to restorative. My goal is to help people with their practice in a way that is enjoyable, safe and inspiring.
Whether you are a beginner or have been practicing yoga for years, this is a class to explore and deepen your yoga practice. Through clear instructions you will learn how to align your body, focus your mind, and connect with your breathing.
Iyengar yoga is suitable for everyone, whatever your age, body shape or level of flexibility
You’ll learn through a carefully graded and systematic programme of Asana (posture), suited to your ability
Pranayama (breath control) is introduced once students have a firm foundation of Asana practice
Practice helps you to relax and energizes the body and mind, bringing vitality, flexibility, strength, concentration, self-confidence and mental calm

My Yoga Journey
I discovered yoga through my practice in contemporary / jazz dance. It was in 2001 that my commitment to yoga took hold and I have had a consistent practice ever since. I completed a two year British Wheel Of Yoga / Triyoga Teaching programme in 2013. I then focused to a practice using the methods as taught by B.K.S. Iyengar. I now hold an Iyengar Yoga Level 1 Teaching Certificate. Yoga has been a rock to my life and I feel that following this path is essential to my wellbeing.
Testimonials
I began taking Peter’s yoga classes in a small group setting at PURE GYM, Bayswater to try to address back and hip pain. Peter‘s classes are extraordinary. Peter offers a rare combination of technical expertise, corrective instruction, and gentle prodding. His efforts to ensure that I execute moves properly has led to a vast improvement in my mobility and range of motion. I recommend Peter unreservedly to anyone looking to improve their yoga practice. - Richard W.

My yoga journey with Peter began during lockdown. After multiple injuries but still a desire to train I needed to find a way of enabling my body to keep going and Yoga seemed like a perfect fit. However, I’d previously resisted due to my own preconceptions about the low tempo of a Yoga session.
Peter, completely changed my outlook. As an instructor he understood what kept me interested in the early days which has then led over these few years to a complete Yoga convert who no longer needs a high tempo session to stay engaged. Peter’s natural approach of patience and constant explanation of what we’re doing, how to do it and why has enabled effective instruction even though not in person. I highly recommend anyone to engage with Peter and you’re lucky to do so. - Stephen Harrison

I've been a dedicated student in Peter's yoga classes for a few years now, and the progress I've experienced is remarkable. With his guidance, I've noticed how much more effortlessly I can ease into even the most challenging poses these days. Peter’s classes are always thoughtfully planned with intelligent sequencing that builds in a progressive, holistic way. I feel that his careful observations help me prevent injury or misalignment. I leave every class feeling centered yet invigorated. However, what sets Peter apart most is his contagious passion for yoga. You can tell this is far more than just a job for him. - Barbara
